CRISTIAN MANDEAL DIRECTED 100 VIOLONCELISTS AT THE ATHENS STAGE FOR ROMANIA 100!
On Wednesday, July 11 at 19.30 on the stage of the Romanian Athenaeum, the violoncellissimo ensemble created and led by the professor and violoncellist Marin Cazacu will open the 7th edition of the International Summer Magic Festival in a super-extended version composed of no less 100 violoncellers from all corners of the country.
The concert, which will be led by conductor Cristian Mandeal, is the way the Romanian cello school celebrates the Centenary of Romania, violoncellers from all over Romania and all ages paying tribute to the generation of illustrious professors who have formed them from a professional point of view .
The program will be spectacular, including surprising arrangements for the instrument considered to be closest to the human voice. Cristian Mandeal, the most internationally acclaimed Romanian conductor, will offer premiere versions of this new repertoire, along with his friends, members of the Violoncellissimo ensemble.
A true artistic attraction, Violoncellissimo, an ensemble composed of musicians who already have great successes on the stage of the world, now in the orchestra formula, will also amaze the audience with new tracks, from Bolero de Ravel to Bachianas Braseileras de Villa Lobos, or Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, in a unique artistic event, not to be missed!
